Our Story
Rena Sapon-White is an LA-based writer and producer. She began her career in documentaries, directing the Nagle Award-winning PARADISUS and working with producers Linda Goldstein Knowlton and Alysa Nahmias. At Tadmor, Rena produced SUMMER '03 (SXSW 2018) and ONLY (Tribeca 2019), and developed an adaptation of Michael Pollan's The Omnivore’s Dilemma with Frances McDormand. She also helped launch Tadmor’s TV division in 2019. As an indie producer, Rena’s worked on everything from creating a vegan travel series with Wu-Tang's GZA to EP-ing rom-coms for Lifetime, Peacock, and Paramount.
Ella Schaefer is a multi-hyphenate originally from Niceville, FL (yep, real place). After heading to LA from Florida State University, an agent told Ella she had a face for comedy, so she took her funny face to UCB, Groundlings and iO to improvise and write. Ella has since starred on network television shows like CRIMINAL MINDS, LOITER SQUAD and CONAN, professionally developed and sold feature film scripts, and written and directed shorts of her own.
Rena and Ella met by pure cosmic accident and never looked back, united in their mission to tell queer stories with heart, humor, and hijinks. Their debut novel, The Christmas Pic, hit the top 10 in Amazon's Lesbian Fiction in 2024, and they are currently working on their sophomore followup, Sweet Talk, as well as several other film, TV, stage and podcast projects.
